Fall is in the air!

This morning I woke up to the Canada Geese honking as they started making their journey south and a chill in the air.  Fall is on its way - let the scrapbooking season begin!  With the launch of the new Annual Inspirations, I am excited to get my photos in albums this fall!

This month, you can combine two great specials for maximum savings!

Spend $50 (not including s/h/t) including $30 of regular priced stamp sets and get the exclusive 30 Years of Happy stamp set absolutely FREE plus the September Stamp of the Month "Family is Forever" for just $5.

30 days of Happy has 30 adorable little stamps, to be used with a 1x1 block, and perfect for adding that "little" touch.

The September SOTM has so many possibilities, but I haven't played with it yet.  But so many others have, here is a link to over 80 different designs.  After all, why reinvent the wheel!

This month's layout workshop is September 26, and features the Chalk It Up paper pack.  Although this paper pack was designed with school in mind, there many ways to use it that aren't school oriented - in fact, I will be modifying my layouts so they will be great for general use!

As always, the Workshop-on-the-Go kit is the best value, and includes everything you need to complete 2 double-page layouts.  With the addition of a few extra sheets of cardstock, I can usually get at least one more layout and a few cards out of every WOTG.

Of course, this one above didn't need modification!  This month's feature colours are Black, NEW Flaxen and Sorbet (both of which can be found in the revised Whimsy paper pack).

Sometime this month the newest Cricut cartridge, Artfully Sent, will be launched, and although I can't take orders yet, you can book a gathering to earn yours at 50% off.  That's a $55 savings with a qualifying gathering with $250 in sales (plus $40 Host credits)!  Be sure to book your gathering today - in your home or mine!

All items featured this month (with the exception of Artfully Sent) can be ordered from my website, terri-fisher.ctmh.com.  "Join" the September 17th Workshop gathering if you need to get your supplies in time for the Layout Workshop on September 26th, and to book your seat.  For all my other event dates this month, click on the Workshop Schedule tab above!

Friday, August 15th's Workshop - Makeup Session!

We are finally finishing July's double-page layout - or doing the whole thing if you haven't already!

Be sure to bring your July kit and the rest of your Ivy Lane paper pack - we are going to do a bonus layout using the remainder that pack!

And I'll be putting orders in on Friday for this month's layout workshop, which we will have on Thursday, August 28th (instead of the Friday because everyone is on holidays this month, it seems!)

You'll create this double-page layout and another one, plus if you buy a second paper pack, I have 3 additional double-page layouts to share with you!

You need to order:

A: Workshop-on-the-Go Kit - Brushed - G1087

or

B: Brushed Paper Pack - X7190B
Brushed Assortment - X3013
(or if you don't like the metal flowers, Brushed Complements X7190C - I'm getting both!)
Topiary Striped Washi Tape Z2002
1 sheet Pear Cardstock
1 sheet Slate Cardstock
2 sheet White Daisy Cardstock

You will also need to bring (if you have them):
Black, Canary, Juniper, and Pixie Exclusive Inks

I will have extra B&T Duos paper in the large floral/pink diamond print available for sale at the workshop as well.

Just go to my website:  www.terri-fisher.ctmh.com and "Join" the August Mystery Hostess Gathering to place your order and you will be entered in a draw for a $25 gift certificate (if the Gathering orders total $150 each month).

New Annual Inspirations Idea Book, New Paper Packs!

Happy Saturday! Have you already had a chance to look over the new Annual Inspirations yet? You can download your own .pdf copy by clicking this link.

There are 9 new paper packs that cover every event from Back to School to a Day at the Beach.   I have already started using the designs and I'm inspired to get scrapbooking again.

For my latest Workshop Schedule, check out the new tab on the grey bar above this page.  This is where you will always find the latest Workshop, Crop and Special Event schedule!

Did you know Close to My Heart offers 3 levels of scrapbooking? Level One is digital scrapbooking through their online program, Studio J.  This software offers simple drop-in photo wells on predesigned pages, and has all the old and new paper packs that Close to My Heart has offered. It is different than Creative Memories Storybook Creator or Panstoria's Artisan program, which I will always offer and support, and can add some new options for you.

Level 2 layouts are similar to what us old Creative Memories die-hards are used to - layouts created using paper packets, Complements stickers and chipboard, and a few accessories.

Level 3 layouts add stamping and inking as an additional element to your pages.  CTMH offers Workshop-on-the-Go kits that includes a coordinating stamp and enough paper and supplies to create 6-8 pages, with enough left over to make a few cards.  I use these kits for my Layout Workshops usually held on the last Friday of each month (but is on August 20th this month).

The launch of a new Idea Book is always a good time to consider becoming a Close to My Heart consultant!  This year, two new consultant kits are being offered:

This is the new Scrapbooker's Kit - just $109 to join and you'll receive this pack valued at $400.

Or how about the Cardmaker's Kit?  It is also only $109 to join and is valued at $400

Be sure to check out this month's specials, also on the grey bar at the top of this page!  The Stamp of the Month is a great Hallowe'en one, and the Picture My Life program is featured as well.  It is a great program if you have a lot of pictures to get organized, and the cards are great embellishments on layouts and cards!

Just for fun, here are some great Level 2 layouts that showcase all of the new paper packs!  The supply list for each layout is included underneath each one, with a link to the product on my website.  Be sure to "Join" the August Mystery Hostess gathering on my home page before you order, and your name will be entered in a draw to become the Mystery Hostess and earn free product this month (1 entry for every $25 of retail product purchased).

Note:  All of these pages are created using one of 3 How-To books:  Make it from the Heart, Volume One and Two and Magic

July Workshop and Retiring Products

There's only one month left to buy from the current catalog and there are number of wonderful items that won't be coming back.  I've had a sneak peek at the new catalogue and it is fantastic, but there's quite a bit I'm going to miss.  I've created a list of the retiring products - click here to see it.

You don't want to just look at the discontinued list; as I mentioned before prices in Canada are going up approximately 10%, because of our falling dollar.  I have a number of items on my wish list I'll be picking up before the price increase.

MYSTERY HOSTESS - I've set up a virtual party set to close on July 31st.  Place your qualifying order through this link, and if I get a total of $150.00 in orders, your name will entered in a draw for $25 in free NEW product of your choice!  And you will get a new catalogue!  If you're not comfortable ordering online, or ordering less than $100, you can save on shipping/handling by contacting me with your credit card information to place your order.

What is a qualifying order for this promotion?  Any order of $30 or more (before shipping, handling and taxes).

Of course, you will want to consider ordering $50 or more, so that you can get this HUGE Stamp of the Month for just $5.00:

S1407A - Circus Alphabet

It includes two full alphabet sets, plus numbers and punctuation!  Alphabets are always handy to have on hand, and this one is so fun with all the different letter styles.

Did you notice the paper on the bottom of the layout?  It was made with the small alphabets stamped on paper - have you ever tried creating your own paper this way?  This month's layout workshop (July 25th) will be creating this layout (as a double-page) and both cards!  I also plan on making the binder cover for my next planner.

For this workshop, you will need to order (or bring if you have it):

  • X7178B Ivy Lane Paper Pack                    $9.95
  • Z1930   Chocolate Woodgrain Washi Tape $4.95
  • Z1853   Aqua Dots                                  $3.95
  • Z3002   Ariana Assortment                      $5.95
  • Z1767   Chalk Marker                              $2.95

If you don't want to order full packs of paper, you can purchase the following at the workshop:

  • X5762 12" X 12" Lagoon Cardstock - 1 sheet (80c)
  • 1385 12" X 12" White Cardstock - 3 sheets   ($2.40)
  • 2 card bases w/envelopes                            ($1.00)

If you want to do the binder cover, you will need:
  • Z1871 Kraft 3-ring binder  $5.95
  • or Z1956 Hip Pics Album   $8.95

I will have one of each of the following to share, but you may want your own (or bring yours if you already have it:

  • S1407A Circus Alphabet - July 2014 Stamp of the Month $5.00 (with qualifying order of $50.00)
  • Z2195 Lagoon Ink Pad                                                  $5.25
  • Z2137 Olive Ink Pad                                                     $5.25
I have limited space at my workshops, so you will want to reserve your seat early!  I can fit 5-6 at any given workshop, but if there is enough demand for the layout workshop, I can book a second evening upon request.

Happy Crafting!

Welcome to the Skylark Blog Hop by the Greenhearts!

Welcome to the first ever Greenhearts blog hop.  If you came here from Brandy's blog, be sure to keep on clicking!  And thanks for visiting my blog!

I am the last stop of the hop however it is a circle hop so you can start here and work your way around.  Should you get lost along the way you can find the complete list at the bottom of this post.

A little about me, I'm a new Close to My Heart consultant, but not new to scrapbooking - I've been doing it for close to 20 years.  I was a single mom since my girls were little, and was looking for something I could do that would introduce me to new people, but also share with my girls.  They are now grown and married, and have blessed me with the lights of my live, Alex and Zoey!
For this very first blog hop,I challenged myself to create cards, as I haven't done a lot of that. Being new to Close to My Heart, I was limited in supplies because all I had was my starter kit! I had also requests to book some beginner card-making classes, so cards were an easy choice.

One sheet of B&T paper and a few scraps from the Skylark Workshop-on-the-Go kit yielded these three cards.

I started by cutting my paper to take advantage of the beautiful designs.  I have some standard cuts I like to use, and thought I would share how I do it here.

First, I lay my paper decorative-side up (the reverse has an all-over design that I will use on some cards).
I then make 2 vertical cuts, taking into account the decorative elements.

(Row 1 of the illustration - I cut the Skylark paper using the middle example)

I then cross-cut the long strips to get as many full-size pieces (4" x 5 1/4") as possible.  Again, I used the second example (in Row 2).

Card 1:

1. Cut 4" x 5 1/4" piece from the top left corner of Skylark paper, inked with Chocolate ink.
2. Place a 5 1/2" piece of teal shimmer trim  1/4" from left edge of card, then place paper on top.
3. If you are really ambitious, trim the bird from a second piece of paper and place on top of  the paper using Foam Tape.
4.  Decorate with flowers and some bling in the bottom right corner.

Card Two:

1. Cut 5 1/4" x 4" piece from the top right corner of Skylark paper, ink with Lagoon.
2. Place paper on card base. Stamp a butterfly or dragonfly in bottom left corner, use second generation technique to stamp a second one.
3. Cut the word "Believe" from the Skylark paper. Rub edges with Lagoon ink. Mount with Foam Tape.

Card 3:

1. If you did the pre-cut pieces, flip one your pre-cut pieces over and trim to 3 1/2" tall.  If not, cut a piece 5 1/2" x 3 1/2". Turn card base horizontally, place piece on bottom of card base.
2.   Stamp a 1" x 5 1/2" piece of Lagoon paper, using Lagoon ink (this stamp is from the exclusive stamp set found in the WOTG kit).  Add to card base, leaving some of the card base showing.  Ink edges of card with Lagoon.
3. Cut a 2" x 3" (approx.) from Pear paper, ink edge using Slate ink. Stamp with the "You're Amazing" stamp from the Ivy Lane Cardmaking Workshop-on-the-Go Kit ((or other suitable sentiment). Add Blue resin flower in place of the "o".

I hope you enjoyed my cards.  I'm looking forward to learning tons more, and plan to share here on my blog my experiences.

If you started part-way through the circle, carry on to Pam's blog.  If this is your last stop, I hope you have enjoyed our first blog hop and keep your eyes peeled for more!
